Every tartan has its own sett, the repeating sequence of colours and stripe widths that makes it recognisable. The Mulcahy sett is carried through the full length of the cloth, so the pattern reads clearly across the apron and the pleats alike.
How Your Mulcahy Kilt Is Made
Before any cloth is cut, we work from the sizing you provide: waist and kilt length are required, and hip or seat and fell measurements can be added for a more personal fit. The Mulcahy tartan is then pleated and stitched by hand to those numbers. Once finished, the leather straps provide approximately two inches of adjustment in either direction, which helps the kilt stay comfortable through long days and changes in sizing.

Looking After Your Kilt
Hand wash your kilt in cold water with a mild detergent and hang it to dry naturally. Avoid wringing, tumble drying and harsh chemicals, as these can affect the pleats and the colours of the Mulcahy tartan. Between wears, hang the kilt by the waist or roll it loosely to keep the pleats sharp.

Each kilt is tailored after your order is placed. Standard delivery takes approximately 20 to 25 days. For an upcoming wedding or event, choose Rush Order on this page and we aim to deliver within 5 to 10 days. We deliver worldwide; shipping is calculated at checkout and is free on orders over $300.
Eligible items can be returned or exchanged within 30 days of delivery, provided they are unworn, unwashed and in their original condition with tags and packaging. As kilts are custom-made, returns for a change of mind are not accepted. Please read our Return and Exchange Policy for full details.
